A root canal therapy is a quick and painless procedure performed on infected teeth that can’t be fixed with a simple dental filling. It usually involves an infected root canal. The root canal is a tooth’s natural cavity that contains the pulp, blood vessels, and nerves that preserve the vitality of a tooth. If the pulp experiences an infection due to an injury or decay, root canal therapy is performed to sterilize the canal and prevent further damage. Periodontal disease, more commonly known as gum disease, also occur as a result of chronic root canal infection.
